Just coming back from the 1st Lille ComiCon in France.
It was firstly a big MamTor's Family meeting !
A lot of my english friends were over there :
Liam, Dave, Kevin, Ali, Emily and Emma had
the opportunity to sing the MamTor's Roooar to
french public!
I met for the first time wonderful peoples like
Glenn Fabry, Jock, Paul Renaud, Adi Granov,
and many others ...
I present you above one of the sketches
i did the most of all during that convention.

Well! What's new ?!!
I met some new friends in convention, i think
it's the most important, isn't it ? Sharing good wine and food
with kindfull peoples is the best thing in this strange world ...
And there was some extremely kindfull guys in that convention,
some really cool men ; Leinil Yu, Mark Brooks and Jimmy Cheung
are some of the Marvel's Young Guns, everybody want a sketch
from them, a picture with them, everybody want to talk with them ...
But they're staying cool, understanding and patient.
They draw all the day long ... talk and smile ... Until 5 in the morning !
Really cool guys, really, really, REALLY !
I'm happy to know them !

This is a page from "Paradox",
a new french project with my friend

What? Oh, Ya ... I know what you're thinking :
"another one - This guy is completely crasy !"

But keep in mind they're only projects ...
Because french publishers
became weirdly prudent
...
It's amazing how much propositions
and submissions have to be done
since the last 6 months without
any real reply for much than
the half of them!
There's a real crisis here !

And when you're a writer or an artist,
the only way to stay in the business
is to multiply projects submissions,
and have a huge stock of them !

... And Love them ... Hé !

of hurricane Katrina and subsequent flooding

Enter SCHLACHTHAUS, a three issue mini series or original graphic novel that Dwight L.MacPherson, Thomas Mauer and I are collaborating on at the moment. The book doesn't have a publisher yet and we'll shop it around when the first issue is in the can. Dwight has written the script, I'm drawing the book at the moment and once he's done, Thomas get to put words into people's mouths - or if you want to get technical, into their word balloons. You nitpicky person you. ;)

SCHLACHTHAUS is a horror mystery which takes place in the final days of World War II at a concentration camp (the Schlachthaus) near Berlin. Hitler has assigned a new Commandant to oversee the extermination of prisoners at the camp before Soviet or Allied Forces roll into Berlin, thus rescuing the innocent captives.

But this is not to be, as the victims of Nazi cruelty begin rising from their graves and murdering their insidious liquidators.This, of course, raises some interesting questions... Why are they coming back from the dead and what do they want?

The Holocaust is something that must never be forgotten and Holocaust denial must be fought with tooth and nail. SCHLACHTHAUS is our attempt to shock people back into thinking about just what the horrors perpetrated by the Nazis mean, to remember and to learn from the mistakes done in the past.

Hell's Scalds

I'm working on several projects with friends for US, UK and French markets. "Hell's Scald" is one of my french ones. Written by Phil Chanoinat, that story take place in France during WW2. Some gangsters want to hide in a small village, waiting quitely the end of war (after some "bad business") ; But the french Milice and the SS-Das Reich will make them change their "priorities" ...

For details, all characters were humans in the first version of Iain ... but i've done a sketch (during a looong download on Call of Duty) and Iain said "That's not what i expected but it's a really interesting idea" ... and that's it ... Hope you'll dig !

Shadow of the Scaffold

One of my last pages on "L'Ombre de l'Echafaud" (Shadow of the Scaffold) for the french publisher Delcourt.It was my first serie, signed in 1999, and i'm currently on issue#3. That's one of the major differences between French and US comic books industry : In France, the team is currently composed by two people - writer & artist - and they've got about 1 year to make an issue of 46 to 56 pages.
